What can eTRAC Electric Central Drives provide?

Guided by the principle of “Zero Emissions”, ZF is pursuing the claim of having compact off-road machinery run completely emission-free. Traction is provided by the eTRAC eCD electric central drive with an electric motor developed by ZF. Following the system concept, ZF offers not only axles, transmissions, and electric motors, but also the associated inverter and electric drive control unit.

Power Electronics

Description

What can Power Electronics provide?

In motor operating mode, the bi-directional power electronics convert the battery’s direct current into a three-phase current for the drive motor. The motor speed is achieved by varying the frequency. In generator operation mode, the direction of action is reversed and power is supplied to the battery, i.e. the battery is recharged by recuperation. It thus forms the bridge between the battery and the electric motor.

In line with the system concept, ZF offers electric motors for the working hydraulics including the power electronics. Together with the drive control, the power electronics, the gearbox and axles, all components are thoroughly fine-tuned with each other.

eDCU Electric Drive Control Unit

Description

What can eDCU Electric Drive Control Unit provide?

The ZF-eDCU connects the vehicle control unit (VCU), the electric motors and the battery to form an intelligent, interacting drive system. Travel and work commands are transmitted from the VCU on CAN and translated by the eDCU into control parameters of the drives in real time. Especially for the high demands of the off-highway sector the eDCU has been equipped with extended safety functions.

MULTITRAC Rigid Axles

What can MULTITRAC Rigid Axles provide?

ZF has optimally matched the MULTITRAC MT-L 3000 axle series to compact loaders and further compact construction equipment. Despite the highest stability and transferred power, the axle has compact dimensions and a low weight. The use of wet multi-disc brakes reduces braking losses and improves efficiency. Market demands for higher speeds have also been taken into account.
