What can eTRAC Electric Central Drives provide?

Guided by the principle of “Zero Emissions”, ZF is pursuing the claim of having construction machinery run completely emission-free in the near future. The newly developed drive system for medium-sized wheel loaders consists of an electromechanical powershift transmission with one eMotor each for drive and power take-off (ePTO). An integrated control unit for the drive completes the system.

Power Electronics

What can Power Electronics provide?

In motor operating mode, the bi-directional power electronics convert the battery’s direct current into a three-phase current for the drive motor. The motor speed is achieved by varying the frequency. In generator operation mode, the direction of action is reversed and power is supplied to the battery, i.e. the battery is recharged by recuperation. It thus forms the bridge between the battery and the electric motor.

cPOWER CVT Transmissions

Heavy loads, continuously adjustable speed and easy maneuverability – the fully power-split CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) technology of the cPOWER combines these characteristics with improved fuel consumption of up to 30 percent. The axles of the MULTITRAC series are designed for utterly uncompromising heavy-duty work of wheel loaders. Despite its high strength and transmission capacity, the wheel loader axle is compact and light. Various transmission types and numerous brake and differential lock options are available for the modular axle model range. Utilizing wet multi-disc brakes reduces braking losses and thus improves efficiency.

The automatic-powershift transmission ERGOPOWER has been optimized for application in wheel loaders and is considered a benchmark on the market. In addition to the standard 4-speed version, ZF offers an EFFICIENCY PACKAGE with 5-speed and Directdrive. The result is increased productivity and fuel savings of up to 15%.
